The 15th Austrian Cycling Summit will take place in Wiener Neustadt from April 16 to 17, 2024. The highly acclaimed symposium with international participation is organized in cooperation with the municipality of Wiener Neustadt, the province of Lower Austria and the Ministry of Climate Protection (BMK) as part of the klimaaktiv mobil climate protection initiative.
This time, the focus is on how we can all travel even more comfortably, safely and quickly by bike in everyday life - whether to school, to the shops or to work. Decision-makers in cities, municipalities and regions, in the federal states and federal institutions, planners, representatives of interest groups and stakeholders from science and business are invited. Cycling enthusiasts in general can also look forward to numerous specialist presentations and activities.

- The nextbike bicycle rental system is available around the clock at 17 stations in Wiener Neustadt. The bikes can be used free of charge during the conference. There is a station at both Wiener Neustadt railroad station and the conference venue where the bikes can be borrowed and returned. Please express your interest when registering.

The Wiener Neustadt casemates are unique in Austria due to their good state of preservation and are a listed building. The oldest part dates back to the time when the city was founded at the end of the 12th century. The imposing structure was planned and built as a fortification and was an essential part of the town's fortifications. Wiener Neustadt was one of the most heavily fortified towns in Europe in the Middle Ages. The historic building was repeatedly extended and rebuilt until the 17th century. Later, the casemates were used as beer storage facilities for the nearby brewery and as an air raid shelter during the Second World War. As part of the Lower Austrian provincial exhibition "World on the Move" in 2019, this jewel was successfully revitalized and made accessible to the general public.
Environmentally friendly arrival
The Kasematten Wiener Neustadt are just a few minutes' walk from the train station and are well connected to the public transport network. Arriving by public transport, bicycle or on foot is therefore very important to us.
Arrival by train
Trains between Vienna and Wiener Neustadt run at regular intervals throughout the day. The journey time is approx. 23 minutes. The distance from Wiener Neustadt station to the casemates is 280 meters. The route planner (https://anachb.vor.at) is available to help you plan your journey. You can offset your journey at climateaustria.at.
Traveling by bike
The route from Vienna to Wiener Neustadt is on the EuroVelo 9 ("Thermenradweg" in Austria). Sufficient bicycle stands are available in front of the entrance to the casemates.
Arrival by car
Please take the highway exit Wiener Neustadt West.
